How does the upper eyelid procedure work?

Eyelid surgery is performed under local anaesthetic, so you will be able to eat and drink as you normally would. First, the cosmetic surgeon will mark the area of the skin to be removed to ensure it is clearly indicated. The surgeon will then remove the excess skin. Finally, the capillaries will be cauterised to prevent bleeding, and the incision will be closed. The scar is essentially invisible, as the stitches will be in the crease of the eyelid. The entire process takes about 45 minutes.

Post-Treatment care

We advise you to use proper sun protection when going outdoors after treatment. The skin and the scar on the upper eyelid will remain fragile and sensitive to UV rays. This will help prevent extra pigment from accumulating in the scar or excess redness. After six weeks, it is safe to be exposed to the sun.

We use non-dissolvable stitches that need to be removed after 7 to 9 days. Your doctor will provide more information during your appointment at the clinic. We recommend applying the cream liberally every day. Additionally, you can purchase lid lift goggles designed to reduce bruising and swelling.
