What is labial reduction surgery?
Would you like to change the shape or size of your inner labia? Some women struggle with inner labia that protrude, causing pain and irritation during activities like cycling and exercise. Labial reduction surgery (labiaplasty) is a procedure that reduces enlarged labia and so relieves the pain. This surgical procedure reshapes and removes excess tissue of the inner labia. You do not need a referral from a GP or gynaecologist for this procedure. We can help you right away at our clinic. At Faceland Worldwide we offer surgery treatments specially for our valued clients in the United Kingdom.

Results
The results of inner labia reduction surgery, or labiaplasty, vary for each person and depend on post-operative recovery and how well the aftercare instructions are followed. The primary outcome is the removal of excess skin from the inner labia, resulting in reduced pain and irritation. After six to ten weeks, all swelling should subside, and the final result will be visible.
It is normal for the labia to be somewhat asymmetrical or show slight differences after treatment. Ultimately, the inner and outer labia will become more proportional. Most women find the results of the treatment to be a great relief. The surgery not only alleviates the physical pain and irritation of the labia, but also helps women feel more confident, allowing them to resume their daily activities without worry.

How does the labia reduction procedure work?

Labial reduction surgery is carried out under local anaesthetic. First the labia are cleaned. The surgeon then decides how much tissue will be removed and marks this off. Next you will be anaesthetised so you won’t feel anything during the procedure. The anaesthetic is administered by two small injections into the labia.
As soon as the anaesthetic has taken complete effect, the excess tissue is removed and the blood vessels are closed. The final step of the operation is inserting dissolvable sutures. The labia are closed with these dissolvable sutures, meaning you do not have to come back to have them removed.

Post-Treatment care
We recommend that you take it easy during the first week after surgery. After the first week, you can resume light tasks. For jobs that involve more strenuous activities, we suggest waiting two weeks. Heavy physical activities, such as biking, swimming, or working out, are not allowed for four weeks after treatment. You may experience some pain due to swelling of the inner labia.
In the most extreme cases, there may be bruising. The area will be sensitive, but usually, a painkiller is sufficient to manage the discomfort. The area should be kept cool for the first three days after surgery. During the first week, rinse the area twice a day with water—do not use soap. Gently pat the area dry and avoid rubbing.

During a labia correction of the inner labia, excess tissue is removed to reduce the size of the labia. The outer labia are not affected in this procedure. The inner labia (labia minora) are reduced in such a way that their function is fully preserved. The reduction is performed under local anaesthetic. A referral from a general practitioner or gynaecologist is not necessary; you can simply contact Faceland for assistance.

Complications can occur after any treatment or surgery. Your practitioner will discuss these with you during the consultation. Potential complications in this case include infection, post-operative bleeding, swelling (from fluid in the wound, which will subside on its own over time), and bruising (which will also clear up naturally).
Immediately after the procedure, the area may be swollen and bruised, which will gradually subside over the following weeks. The final outcome varies for each person, and your practitioner will explain what you can expect. Full recovery takes about six weeks. While scars do not completely disappear, they will gradually become less visible and feel smoother over time.
