During a labia correction of the inner labia, excess tissue is removed to reduce the size of the labia. The outer labia are not affected in this procedure. The inner labia (labia minora) are reduced in such a way that their function is fully preserved. The reduction is performed under local anaesthetic. A referral from a general practitioner or gynaecologist is not necessary; you can simply contact Faceland for assistance.

Complications can occur after any treatment or surgery. Your practitioner will discuss these with you during the consultation. Potential complications in this case include infection, post-operative bleeding, swelling (from fluid in the wound, which will subside on its own over time), and bruising (which will also clear up naturally).

Immediately after the procedure, the area may be swollen and bruised, which will gradually subside over the following weeks. The final outcome varies for each person, and your practitioner will explain what you can expect. Full recovery takes about six weeks. While scars do not completely disappear, they will gradually become less visible and feel smoother over time.
